Ms. VanDyke was born in Walnut Creek, California. She attended several colleges and ultimately graduated from Weber State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and a double minor in English and Spanish. Ms. VanDyke attended the University of Utah College of Law with Abriella Hinckley Scholarship and graduated in 1998.

Ms. VanDyke practices in all areas of tort law and is a member of the Utah State Bar, the American Bar Association and the Utah Associates For Justice. She is licensed to practice in both state and federal courts in the state of Utah.

Ms. VanDyke has two children.  Her hobbies are yoga, walking and reading.
